
Michael Schmidt
Michael Schmidt was born in Heilbronn, Germany, in 1961. In 1989 he graduated in Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, later attending the Academy of Arts Stuttgart, specializing in Investment Goods Design. He began his career as a designer at Mercedes-Benz, in the Design and Advanced Concepts Office, a position he left in 1992 to co-found the design studio DesignWorX. In 1995, he established his own studio, code.2.design.
Main clients: Audi, ACO Passavant, BMW, Columbus Clean, Drabert, Duscholux, E_Plus, Falper, Hansgrohe OEM, HighTech Design Produkts, Porsche, Renggli Laboratories, Schärf Office Furniture, Samas Office Furniture Group. code.2.design is an official innovation partner of the Fraunhofer Institute.
His collaboration with Falper led to the creation of the Scoop bathtub and washbasin, as well as the Shape collection.
